Doug is driven, not ambitious. He went from college football player into talent evaluator for the Seahawks and after 3 years of scouting he was off and running. It kicked off what would be over a decade long stint with the Steelers front office which prepared him to join Buffalo. In 2014 Doug took over as GM for the Buffalo Bills when Buddy Nix stepped down and he held that position through 2017.
The Bills today have Whaley's finger prints all over them. Our conversation hit on roster building and his career, but we also briefly discussed his present and future with the XFL. Doug continues to make a difference in the football community as he helps the XFL prepare for a 2023 season.
