Some of us are lucky enough to have our granddaddy here with us while others of us simply have their memories to cherish and the lessons to live by that they instilled in us while we were growing up. As patriarchs of the family, Granddads play an especially influential role in agrarian households, and in this episode I reflect on the man who showed me by example how to live a life of stewardship to God, family, his community, as well as land and livestock - my granddaddy John Olan (J.O.) Pearce, Jr. Tune in to hear quite a few of my childhood memories of not only Granddaddy, but also Okeechobee's early history and some of the other key agricultural leaders in this community.
