Today’s episode is all about Shirley Jackson, a wonderful writer who wrote some of the most important and creepy Gothic work of the 20th century. She was smart and determined, and fought to prove herself as a writer in a time when women were expected to stay in the kitchen or go out and get a real job. When the world told her that she had to choose between motherhood, and following her passion, she stood on the line and held firm to both dreams. And on top of that, she wrote a really good stories!
You’ll hear us talk about one in particular, and Hannah gets pretty riled up, so prepare for that. I was so happy to be surprised by how much I enjoyed her writing, and I hope that you’ll take the time to not only hear out show, but hear the words of a woman with something to say.
