The Purdue Boilermakers are one win away from becoming the number one ranked team in the country for the first time in school history. They host Iowa at Mackey Arena on Friday, and a win will all but guarantee that number one ranking come Monday. Purdue took down number one Duke in the ACC/Big 10 Challenge earlier in the week, and Iowa barely hung on after losing a double-digit halftime lead to Virginia in the same challenge.

The ACC is also starting their league play on Friday with Notre Dame vs. Boston College, and Pittsburgh vs. Virginia. Two 5-1 teams face each other as well on Friday when Kansas takes on St. John’s and the brand new UBS Arena. The Red Storm’s five wins have all come against teams that are far inferior, and their one loss was to Indiana. It will be an uphill climb for St. Johns on Friday against a top ten Kansas team.
