You probably know about the insurmountable amount of plastic packaging in school lunches, and for most of us the idea of tackling this problem feels bigger than the daily piles of waste it creates. But when my next guests child came to her for help – she couldn’t look the other way – and thankfully a movement was created.
Cafeteria Culture (http://www.cafeteriaculture.org/) is a NYC based non-profit empowering our children to take action for the plastic free future they desire. Armed with a camera and determination, this movement has now become a movie – Microplastic Madness. Today we will learn from the films Creators and Producers – Atsuko Quirk and Debby Lee Cohen on how they started this mighty movement and why children may very well save the world from plastic pollution.
