Someone has to win the NFC South and lucky for us, Amazon Prime showcases that division tonight. Carolina had a fire sale weeks ago and shanked a game-winning PAT at Atlanta to lose in overtime. The Falcons are dreadful against the AFC North, but against everyone else they seem to be fine. Geno Smith and the Seahawks take their act to Germany against Tom Brady and the Buccaneers. Smith is wiggling his way into MVP conversations and Pete Carroll is getting Coach of the Year love too. A reshaped defense, exceptional quarterback play, and a rookie running back continue to deliver coin for Seahawks backers. But Tampa Bay is healthier on defense and secured a confidence boosting win a week ago.
Kirk Cousins vs. Josh Allen seems like a one-sided gun fight on paper, but we aren’t playing this on paper. An injury to Allen’s ulnar nerve in his throwing arm has limited him in practice this week. Can Minnesota’s defense rise to the challenge and duplicate the trouble the Jets provided last week for this Bills offense is a familiar foe in Case Keenum is under center?
Green Bay is free-falling and the Cowboys would love to shovel more dirt on their grave. While Jerry Jones has a healthy amount of love for Zeke Elliot, Tony Pollard appears to be the best option in the backfield. Either way, Micah Parsons could feast on Aaron Rodgers if Green Bay’s offensive line doesn’t hold up and if that happens the Packers are staring at their sixth straight loss. Being 1.5 games back of Seattle, the San Francisco 49ers can’t afford to let things get out of reach in the NFC West. Now that Christian McCaffrey has a game under his belt and the bye week, how does Kyle Shanahan exploit Brandon Staley and a familiar Chargers defense? While LA can’t counter in the explosive category, they do have Justin Herbert to bail them.
