1. The matter and distinction between Moses and Joshua, Law vs Christ, Law vs Grace has to be understood if we are to believe God's testimony about His Christ and the work of His salvation.--2. God already preached this distinction very well in the OLD TESTAMENT. Moses could not bring God's people into the Promised Land, but he could see the land from a distance. And so, the Law was only a shadow, but could never bless a sinner who can't do it. There is no sinner who has ever done the Law-those are just false claims. The inheritance of salvation is not of Law, but of grace. --3. Moses relinquished his position of leading God's people to Joshua and God caused Joshua to bring His people over the Jordan by the crossing of the flooded waters that was mediated by the priesthood that carried the Ark of the Covenant. --4. Once Israel crossed-God continued to preach the matter of the work of Christ in the New Covenant. Joshua circumcised God's people at the HILL OF FORESKINS-a picture of MT Calvary.--5. Joshua with flint knives circumcised God's people and on account of that finished work said-THE REPROACH of Egypt had been rolled away from them-Gilgal. The reproach of a sinner is ONLY removed by the circumcision of Christ. --6. And then the children of Israel observed the Passover and ate Unleavened bread-and that means they partook of the sacrifice of Christ.--7. And what else happened-they did not eat manna when they crossed over. THE MANNA CEASED. Manna was a provision of the Law and once one has crossed into Christ the Law of Moses loses jurisdiction because of the SUFFICIENCY OF CHRIST ALONE. Mixing Moses and Christ is a false gospel.
