1. In our introduction, we re-visited the gospel testimony of the Young and Old Prophet to expose more the matters of the Law vs the gospel.--2. The matter of the relationship between the Law and the gospel is not just a mere difference of opinion. It is a matter of whether one holds to the truth of God or falsehood. Of course, there are many polished traditions around this matter-which are contrary to the truth of the gospel. The gospel is Christ and His sufficiency alone in the salvation of His people. The covenant of the Law had its function-to testify of Christ and to be set aside by way of fulfilment for a better and new covenant. The Law has to be a servant of Christ-and it was preparatory of things greater than itself. --3. And that testimony is there taught in the testimony of the Young Prophet from Judah -Christ- and the Old Prophet -The Covenant of the Law-. The young Prophet ate and drank in the house of the Old Prophet, and as a result condemnation came to Him and yet his donkey did not die. And that is Christ who came under the Old Covenant-the house of the Old Prophet-ate and drank with sinners and tax collectors and died to redeem them from the curse of the Law.--4. The young Prophet from Judah had prophesied about the One Josiah to be born from the house of Judah to be the One to come and destroy false worship in Israel. And so, we worked the testimony of the fulfillment by the appearance of Josiah who became king of Israel at the tender age of 8. --5. Josiah was a picture of Christ in the New Testament who came to establish righteousness-by destroying all the altars of false religion. --6. The matter of idol worship is really a big matter with God.
