BSGCEPH # 18 Walk worthy of your calling Eph 4 vs 1-3

1. The true gospel grounds all of salvation in what Christ alone did... -2. What God did in Christ is what constitutes the INDICATIVES of salvation -speaks of one's cause of standing in Christ as already established-. IT speaks to what is true about the redeemed, they are children, redeemed, holy , justified, have an inheritance.-3. But there is a therefore that follows -imperatives-. Imperatives are commands-exhortations given to those who are the redeemed. Doing them does not commend or recommend one to God. But all believers are exhorted to obey them. -4. However, working imperatives to establish indicatives is false teaching. Indicatives are what establishes all matters of life and righteousness.-5. Ephesians 4-1-3 -NKJV- -1 I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, -2 with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, -3 endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
