Sheila Modglin has been a bartender at the legendary Dirty Franks bar in Philly for 31 years. The night of the Eagles Superbowl parade celebration, Sheila was struck by a car and severely injured. Sheila's brother Rick joins Kristen in studio to give an (encouraging) update on Sheila, to solicit thoughts and healing vibes for her, and to talk about an event going on the entire month of October called Dining Out for Sheila. A number of restaurants all over the city (and outside of the city too) have come together to ask the public to dine out at a different restaurant or cafe every day in the month of October, to help support Sheila's therapy and recovery. Find all of the details at https://www.diningoutforsheila.com/ and please help (eat!) if you can. <3

BEN-FM and Volunteers of America Delaware Valley have partnered with one another the past few years to help VOADV's Adopt A Family program provide a better Christmas to families in need all over the region. The program has grown from around 250 families the first year to this year's goal of helping 800+ families, thanks in part to the generosity of BEN-FM listeners each year. To kick off the 2018 Adopt A Family season, VOADV is holding the 2nd Annual Give Hope Jingle Mingle this Thursday, October 11th from 6pm-9pm. This super fun party features sign ups for the Adopt a Family program, an open bar, delicious food, bowling, raffles, arcade games, and more. THE EAGLES GAME WILL BE ON. Tickets are just $50. Please join us! http://www.voadv.org/jingle-mingle

Then, Melissa Levy returns to the BEN-FM Morning Show with Matt & Kristen to give the details on the 12th Annual PAWS Mutt Strut THIS SATURDAY (10/6) at the Navy Yard.
