The Kimmel Center and Broadway Philadelphia bring us the Philadelphia premiere of WAITRESS, a new musical playing now through Sunday (2/18/18) at the Forrest Theater. Kristen had the chance to see it for the first time on Tuesday, and then interview Desi Oakley who stars in the show as the lead character, Jenna. Waitress is inspired by the movie by the same title starring Keri Russell. Featuring music and lyrics by six-time grammy nominee Sara Bareilles, and an all-female creative team in Screenwriter Jessie Nelson, and Director (and Tony Award® winner) Diane Paulus, Waitress is relatable, fun, and just plain hilarious. Find more information and tickets HERE.
Then Kristen speaks with Ellen Soloff, the Director of Tours and Merchandise for Mural Arts Philadelphia. Originally implemented to combat graffiti, the Mural Arts program has transformed Philadelphia into a city of murals and amazing art spaces. Hear as Ellen speaks to some of the organization's many beneficial programs and incredible tours. Find more information about Mural Arts and how you can help support this incredible organization HERE.
