Ryan Metcalfe shares how having worked as a magician improved his approach to business and life, how challenging and destroying your own ideas can help you succeed, the power of combining seemingly unrelated disciplines, the importance of good relationships, when it pays off to be cheeky, the significance of taking a broader perspective and so much more.

Ryan started off as a magician, studied stage design at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and left early to found his company ‘Preevue’ at the age of 18. 'Preevue' specialises in creating bespoke VR and AR visualisations. They started out doing theatre set design projects that allowed producers and directors to see and walk around a set without it physically being built. The productions they have worked on include ‘Harry Potter and The Cursed Child’, ‘Come From Away’, ‘Bat Out of Hell The Musical’, and ‘Moulin Rouge’. Their clients include the Barbican, the Southwark Playhouse and Sonia Friedman Productions. 'Preevue' has worked on projects in cities around the globe, including Melbourne, Toronto, New York and LA. They have also since expanded into architecture, construction, and live event production.
