Based on the off-Broadway play Justice on Trial: Black Lives Matter, Too Produced & written by Chad Cooper. The he play began following the 2016 shooting death of Philando Castile.

The movie "Justice on Trial was initially released in selected AMC theaters for Black History Month February 2020. Due to COVID-19 the film will stream online July 4th.

The movie follows two civil rights attorneys who sue the U.S. Department of Justice for reparations and damages on behalf of African Americans citizens, bringing back time travel witnesses, like Harriet Tubman, Medgar Evers, and Emmett Till in full character, to tell their stories to a modern-day courtroom.
