How an Indian Immigrant Became the #4 Loan Originator in the U.S. w/ Shashank Shekhar

Welcome to another episode of Behind the Breakthrough! This weeks guest is the CEO of Arcus Lending, Shashank Shekhar.

Shashank grew up in a small village in India with no running water or electricity but a dream to one day own his own company. At the age of eight his mother sent him off to live with his aunt in a larger city to get better education. After college Shashank got a job in the financial sector that required him to move to California. In the heat of 2008 the company filed for bankruptcy leaving Shashank jobless, in a new culture, with little savings, and a 5 month old to take care of. This was his perfect storm to have faith in his entrepreneurial dreams. Having never worked in mortgages, Arcus lending was born.

During the first 12 months Shashank did a whopping seven loans but he felt determined to succeed and quickly after became a top 200 loan originator in the country, number four top mortgage professional according to Scottsman guide, and top 500 fastest growing companies in America.
