Before Playboi Carti as gifted a $120,000 TANK by Kanye West which lead fans to believe that he has a hand in Playboi’s latest album…AND THEN it was revealed that Kanye not only collaborated on a song produced by Wheezy but also executive produced the entire album. Before Playboi Carti would walk on runways for Kanye’s Yeezy line, in ads for Nike or became the voice behind the latest Givenchy campaign. Playboi Carti was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. He started making music in his early teens on Garage Band and uploading it to SoundCloud. He never talked about his music to his friends at school but eventually, they discovered it themselves and he said their validation “put a battery in his back”. Soon enough, he caught the attention of Awful Records who would later sign him.
