“Napoleon Dynamite” became one of the 21st Century’s earliest cult-hit films after it was shot for a mere $400,000 and went onto gross over $44 Million at the North American box office, something no one ever expected to happen, not even the primary creative mind behind the film. Back in 2002, Brigham Young University film student Jared Hess shot a short black-and-white movie named “Peluca” with his friend and classmate Jon Heder in the starring role. This short would be accepted into the Sandance Film Festival and its success gave Jared the confidence to adapt it into a feature film. That’s just the type of staying power this film has – unfortunately, the same can’t rightly be said for the cast. Sure, some actors like Diedrich Bader, Sandy Martin, and even Heder himself have had relatively successful careers in film and television, but the majority of the cast including Jon Gries, Efren Ramirez, Aaron Ruell, Tina Majorino, and Shondrella Avery have all primarily been relegated to co-starring roles in later projects. Today, I’m going to fill you in on what they’ve all been up to as we take a look back at the cast of Napoleon Dynamite and ask, Where Are They Now?
