So we got there in the end! Following the success of the UK Top 10 IPAs and then the disappointment of the ‘vote rigging’ scandal the first time we ran this poll, we now have a result in the Top 10 Lagers.

Voting has been full on with 403 votes cast and in the end one lager emerged head and shoulders above the rest. So without further ado, the UK Top 10 Lagers are…

1. Camden Town Hells 4.6% ABV

Freelance Beer Writer and friend of the show Matt Curtis has the following to say about it “Camden Hells has done more to change the minds of your average beer drinker than you might think. Inspired by the crisp, pale lagers of Munich, Germany this clean light lager has proved that this style of beer deserves as much respect as the best India Pale Ales or Imperial Stouts. In London it’s gradually replacing the big brands on the taps because todays drinker, even the ones that pay very little attention to what they consume are demanding better. With its delicate, cereal like malt backbone and light snap of herbal hoppiness, Camden Hells is a beer that’s appreciated by ardent beer geeks and casual lager lovers alike. That’s why it’s one of the best beers in its class.” You can also check out what we thought of it when we reviewed it back on episode 66.

2. Harviestoun Schiehallion 4.8% ABV

3. Fourpure Pils 4.7% ABV

4. Thornbridge Kill Your Darlings 5% ABV

5. West St Mungo 4.9% ABV

6. Redwell Steam 4.6% ABV

8. Adnams Jack Brand Dry Hopped Lager 4.2% ABV

9. Brewdog Zeitgiest 4.9% ABV

10. Windsor & Eton Republika 4.8% ABV

So Camden Town Hells, Harviestoun Schiehallion and Fourpure Pils now join Marble’s Dobber, Magic Rock’s Cannonball and The Kernel’s Citra IPA in the end of the year UK Top 10 Beers poll. Before that we have porters, stouts, supermarket favourites and the next poll, Pale Ales to get through.

You can nominate your favourite Pale Ales in the comment box below or via Twitter using #UKTop10Pales until Friday 12 September. The poll will run from Thursday 18 – Monday 22 September and the top 3 will also be added to the UK Top 10 Beers poll at the end of the year.

Thanks to everyone who took time to cast a vote, we hope you enjoy giving these beers a try.
