Dutch record producer Nicolay (born Matthijs Rook), does everything from writing, producing and engineering, to business battles and touring. You might know him best as one-half of The Foreign Exchange with Little Brother co-founder Phonte Coleman. I’ve been a personal fan of Nicolay’s for over a decade and I was very honored to sit down and navigate through those years of being a bedroom producer who just moved to the U.S. leading up to now, which is a Grammy-nominated producer that’s five albums deep and has earned a reputation for being one of the best live acts taking it to the stage. Speaking of which, his new album outside of the +FE moniker Glaciers, is talked about in length which features The Hot at Nights (guitarist Chris Boerner, Matt Douglas on woodwinds, and drummer Nick Baglio).
