Jamie McGowan is the driving force behind multiple businesses on the Isle of Harris, including Loomshed Hebridean Brewery, Norserv Facilities Management and award-winning candle and home fragrance company ‘Essence of Harris’. With expertise in a diverse range of sectors Jamie is an entrepreneur with an unwavering passion for success.  

 Aside from his complete devotion to his business ventures, Jamie is passionate about encouraging young people into business, and rejuvenating his island home for future generations to come. Working tirelessly to create sustainable job opportunities in the remote Outer Hebrides to mitigate the negative impact of outward migration in the area.

The underlying message of everything the team at ‘Essence of Harris’ do is of trying to reverse the migration of talent away from this island.

They needed to get the story of Harris out there and they make sure they weave the DNA of the island into everything they do.
