Our Lord teaches us how we should begin this journey: “But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly” (Mt 6:6). This is the beginning of our journey of the Great Lent. We must go into our secret rooms–or our closets as some translations say–and pray earnestly to our Father in heaven.
