In this episode Ace Piva joins us from Brantford, Ontario. He is creator of the Lost Tapes of the 27 Club, which uses artificial intelligence to create new songs by artists lost to music's mental health crisis. Ace is a certified addictions counsellor who knows the ins and outs of the road and its associated pressures and struggles. He’s been there as a musician, tour manager, sound engineer, stage manager and production manager - and today, Piva is a co-founder and Executive Director of Over The Bridge, whose goals are to change the conversation about mental health and recovery in the music community.

We sit down with Ace to discuss the Lost Tapes of the 27 Club project, how it came about, how they used AI to create new songs by deceased artists and how the project exceeded their goals by a huge margin. We listen to a sample of the "new", Nirvana song, and discuss how this controversial technology was received by fans, critics and other industry observers. We hope you enjoy this special 27th episode of Beatseeker.
