Today, for Mother's Day, we are making an exception, and adding these THREE coveted recipes to the Beats & Eats Cookbook Series...

Mom's Pepper Cookies
Mom's Ricotta Cookie w/ White Icing

Gelso | Sabella Family Cookie Recipes: Ricotta Cookie & Pepper Cookie.


INGREDIENTS | DIRECTIONS:


Pepper Cookies

9 cups flour1 cup cocoa
4 tbsp baking powder
2 tsp cloves
2 tsp cinnamon
3 cups sugar
3-4 tsp pepper
2 cups oil
2 ½ lukewarm water
½ cup chopped walnuts

Directions:


Sift dry ingredients in very large bowl.
Add oil and water, hand mix with dry ingredients.
Roll into small balls.
Bake in ungreased cookie sheet.
10-12 minutes/375 degrees
Icing:

Sift confectioners sugar, add warm water slowly until loose
consistency, add anise oil, drizzle over cookies.

Ricotta Cookies

2 sticks margarine
2 cups sugar
3 eggs
1 lb. ricotta
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
4 cups flour
Cream margarine and sugar, add vanilla, add eggs, add
ricotta.

Directions:


Sift salt baking soda and flour
Add dry ingredients to wet slowly
Bake 350 degrees / 13-15 minutes.


Icing:

Sift confectioners sugar, add warm water slowly until loose
consistency, add anise oil, drizzle over cookies.
