The death of Jesus is well documented but brief. In all four gospels it is about 14 verses in total. Let's read them and sit with them today. I've got throw-up in my mouth because of it.
The death is real, voluntary, excruciating ("of the cross"), suffocating, prophetic, sin-bearing, and for me, "triggering".
That is, the Holy Spirit reminded me of Martha when she had throw-up in her mouth over the death of her brother Lazarus. Jesus gave her sweet words and a sweet concept: I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will NEVER die. If so, then the thief on the cross, died as far as the world is concerned, but he did not die as far as Jesus was concerned. Poof. He's in paradise with Jesus at the moment of his "death".
Jesus dies so I will never die. Both are true. Today is the throw-up in my mouth part of it.
