As an experienced real estate agent of 15 years, Pam shares her advice for all real estate agents in today’s marketplace. Her first piece of advice is to take a hard look at your sales the past year and where they came from. Oftentimes, we think we know where most of our sales have come from, but you might be surprised to see that a large portion could be coming from referrals, so having this information is very useful.

Second, Pam advises real estate agents to take an assessment of the tools available to them and chose the ones that will serve them best. The amount of tools out there can be overwhelming, so don’t feel like you need to use them all to be successful. Take the ones that will help you, and leave the rest.

Pam’s third piece of advice is to really get to know your market so that you know where to refer clients for anything that they need and you can better answer any questions, which will in turn build trust in you and your expertise.

Fourth, Pam emphasizes the importance of having a routine because it is easy to get caught up doing small things here and there that keep you busy, but don’t actually move the needle forward. Having a routine in your personal and business life will keep things moving.

Last but not least, make sure to take care of yourself first and learn to prioritize the important things in your life. It is easy to let your business take over and put yourself or those close to you on the back burner, but make sure to really think about what is important to you and learn to balance your personal and professional lives.
