Instead of looking at Wisdom as something we look for and seek out, this week we examine how Wisdom is looking for us. She is out in the highways and hedges to show us herself in our own culture and our own day-to-day life. This week we get really practical, and spend a lot of time in dialogue about wisdom in our own personal, individual lives. We have so much dialogue, in fact, that we decided at toward the end of the episode that we needed to break this into 2-parts! We hope you enjoy this hands-on, grassroots look at Wisdom in our lives today, and be sure to tune in next week for part 2!

BE IN THE WORD (This Week's Verses):

Read Proverbs 8

Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honest, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think on these things. (Philippians 4:8)

But let your ‘Yes’ mean ‘Yes,’ and ‘No’ mean ‘No.’ For whatever is more than these comes from the evil one.(Matthew 5:37)

BE DOERS, NOT JUST HEARERS (Practical Application):

What super basic, everyday ways does Wisdom call out to you that you wouldn’t have otherwise considered as wisdom?Where have you heard Wisdom calling out to you, but you let the noise of the world overpower her?Where has God called you to speak forth confidently with wisdom? Where in your life can you identify the unabashed blessings and riches of God because of your commitment to walk in Wisdom?

QUOTES FOR THE WEEK:

“There are, it’s true, temples, synagogues, churches, chapels, but hundreds of thousands never frequent them, and therefore do not hear the voice of truth. Wisdom, therefore, must go to them, if she wishes them to receive her instructions. Hence the zealous ministers of Christ go still to the highways and hedges, to the mountains and plains, to the ships and the cottages, to persuade sinners to turn from the error of their ways, and accept that redemption which was procured by the sacrificial offering of Jesus Christ.” (Adam Clarke)
