The Basilica will host a Mass with Healing Service at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 14. Celebrating the Mass will be Fr. John Melmer, former parochial vicar at the Basilica and a member of the Catholic Healing Ministry of the Diocese of Arlington (http://www.healingministry.net). The evening begins with the Mass of the day. In receiving the Eucharist, we are touched by Christ, healed, reconciled and spiritually nourished. After Mass, if they wish, those attending are invited to pray individually with the priest or a member of the lay healing ministry team. (This is not the anointing of the sick.) The Sacrament of Reconciliation will be available.
