Jacob deGrom will be re-evaluated on Friday after experiencing minor left side soreness earlier this week.

Manny Machado confirmed Friday that he intends to opt out of his contract with the Padres following the 2023 season. 

Clayton Kershaw indicated Thursday that there are some "complications" in him getting cleared to pitch for Team USA in the upcoming World Baseball Classic. 

Kyle Hendricks (shoulder) is expected to begin the season on the 10-day injured list.
