Ethan Hawke first came to prominence in the BAFTA Best Film winner Dead Poets Society (1989). His performance in Training Day (2002) opposite Denzel Washington earned him an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor. He is acclaimed for his long-running collaboration with filmmaker Richard Linklater on the Before Sunrise, Before Sunset and Before Midnight series and Boyhood.
In his Life In Pictures interview, he talks to Boyd Hilton about his early admiration for actor River Phoenix, collaborating with visionary directors Peter Weir and Richard Linklater, and taking twelve years to shoot the 2014 hit Boyhood.
