It made 623.9 million dollars over a budget of 200 million. Only 38.7 million more than Iron Man despite a 60 million dollar Budget Increase

It featured Tony Stark reprising his role as the title character along with Mickey Rourke and Sam Rockwell tag teaming as villains Ivan Vanko / Whiplash and Justin Hammer respectively.

Scored 73% (21% less than Iron Man) from Critics on Rotten Tomatoes and got a 72% (19% less) from the audience.

57/100 on Metacritic citing 40 reviews.
