For the latest installment of "We don't go past the bridge": A Discussion on Race in Milwaukee, Mark Metcalf talks with comedian Joel Boyd.

For the latest installment of my ongoing conversation on race in Milwaukee, I talked with comedian, actor and writer Joel Boyd, who is currently studying at Columbia College Chicago, majoring in TV writing and producing. His main focus at the moment is stand-up comedy and he is performing around Chicago. And through the magic of the Internet, you can find more on his comedy on his Facebook page, facebook.com/BlackNerdFunnies.

Joel grew up in Milwaukee and we talked about what it’s like growing up in the most segregated city in America, going to some of the city’s most diverse schools, and how his race affects his comedy.
