It allows you to separate a song into multiple parts and control the volume of each parts, for example: Vocal, Drums, Bass, and Other, you can remove the vocals from a song if you'd like to record your own voice singing it, or you can do what I did in this episode which is remove the drum track and record the drum part and mix it into the song.
