In our interview with Paul VanderKlay, we asked him what he thought we should start reading next in the Book club. I don't think we all expected him to say Lord of the Rings but no objections here! Before we dive into the Trilogy, we had to start at the Beginning. J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit was written in 1937 and has lasted this long for a number of reasons. We talk about the Heroes Journey, our fascination with lore and backstory, and the real meaning of Magic. Gandalf is the Wizard but Tolkien was the Magician.
