In Roshan’s own words - ‘In this new piece I explain how the industry uses ethnic meat shields, artist-as-saviour rhetoric, faux solutions and fabricated communities to ensure that since the 2020 Minneapolis uprising against police brutality, very little has materially changed in the dance music industry for marginalised communities.

One House are the perfect case study in understanding how Anglo-Pessimism, a faux anti-racist ideology has taken over.

In the end I offer a future framework for real marginalised communities to own the means of their success in the industry and shut out the Anglo-Pessimist gaze.’
