Mark Ullrich of Symetrix join us for a deep dive into the world of professional audio digital signal processors.

Show Notes:

Interview Guest: Mark Ullrich

Release Date: March 25, 2015

Running Time: 48:43

As professional AV installations go they don’t get a whole lot bigger than the Singapore Sports Hub, a $1.06 Billion, 35-Hectare sports complex opened in June, 2014. The sheer size and scope of such a project necessitate flexible audio visual solutions with a high degree of scalability. So when the team in charge of selecting AV vendors for the project needed a DSP solution they turned to Symetrix.

The Sports Hub certainly represents a crowning achievement in Symetrix’s long history. But like many individuals within the systems integration industry, Symetrix has roots in a much smaller, albeit equally critical, environment – the recording studio. In fact the company’s founder, Dane Butcher, was one of the recording engineers on Herbie Hancock’s legendary album “Head Hunters”. Drawing on his recording experience Dane founded Symetrix in 1976, providing cost effective solutions for professional studios. Since then Symetrix has evolved into one of the world’s leading providers of digital signal processing technology.

On this episode of AV Shop Talk we are joined by the company’s International Sales Manager Mark Ullrich. Topics of discussion range from the background of Symetrix to the company’s latest product offerings, including the SymNet family, a line up of open-architecture, Dante scalable DSP’s.

We had a great time chatting with Mark. As always we hope you enjoy listening in as we talk shop, diving deep into the world of professional DSP.
