In this day and age of digital ubiquity it’s easy for us to feel that we are more connected than ever. In many ways this is true. Social platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter have made expanding our rolodexes a breeze. Paradoxically this ease of connecting has led to a marked decline in what was once, and is arguably still, the most effective way to connect; the face-to-face meeting.

On this episode we brought on Ernie Beck (founder and “club master” of Integrate! Baltimore) for what proved to be a very interesting and inspirational conversation. A few years back Ernie and a some of his industry friends decided they would commit to gathering four times a year to catch up on the latest in one another’s lives both professionally and personally. They soon began to realize that, beyond simply talking shop over a few cold beers, these meetings presented significant opportunities for their participants. Attendance began to grow as individuals, companies, and manufacturers all began to see the benefits of these in-person events.

Alas the Integrate! Baltimore club was born.  The group continues to meet every quarter and has now become a central hub for AV and Integration professionals in the Baltimore area to network and connect. This simple act of bringing people together with a shared set of interests has created some real magic. Not only does the group present benefits to its individual members and the industry at large, but Integrate! Baltimore has also banded together to give back to its surrounding community. Tune into this episode to hear all about Ernie’s group!
