Since 1980, the city of Frankfurt has hosted a program aimed at allowing former citizens, including those of Jewish descent AND those who suffered political or religious persecution, to visit the city. The programme is aimed at all those first and second generation, who suffered persecution during the National Socialist regime and were forced to leave Frankfurt.
On this episode of Both Sides, Allan and Mike explore Allan’s recent trip to Frankfurt and discuss how Germany chose to face their crimes post World War II, including reparations.
