As part of its ongoing commitment to providing quality and cost-effective healthcare to Texans, Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Texas (BCBSTX), will offer multiple health plans options.

For coverage that starts Jan. 1, 2022, the Open Enrollment period ends January 15, 2022. To purchase a health plan, you do not need to show proof of a qualifying event in your life.

James Springfield, president of BCBSTX, stated that the ongoing COVID-19 epidemic and its impact on health and economic well-being for so many Texans are a reminder of how crucial it is to protect your family’s health. We are proud to offer quality, affordable health plans in all of Texas’ 254 counties. These plans are available through an unparalleled network of providers and facilities. Some individuals may also be eligible for financial aid.

BCBSTX offers plans in the Dallas and Houston areas. Plans are available to nearly half the population of the exchange. Subsidized subsidies will apply for $0 monthly payments. Subsidies helped 92% of Texans reduce their monthly bills in 2020 by allowing them to purchase plans on the exchange.

BCBSTX is also working with members, their families, providers, communities, and other stakeholders to increase access to value-based care models like the MyBlue Health SM plan. This plan features the Sanitas Medical Centers in the Dallas and Houston areas. The MyBlue Health SM plan has also been extended to San Antonio and Austin.

BCBSTX recognizes the accessibility challenges created by the pandemic and has set up multiple resources for customers to get more information about their options.

BCBSTX will host online open enrollment seminars in Texas with Think Blue representatives, who can offer guidance in English or Spanish.
