The perfect scam, a Craig's List story about concert tickets!

September 17, 2021 22:00 - 30 minutes - 21 MB

In todays world of scams you have to be more vigilant than ever! But sometimes things slip through the cracks no matter how careful you are. Earlier today I was scammed by someone that posted a Craig's List ad selling Dave Matthew's Band tickets. Their concert is tonight at SPAC (7:30PM), the Saratoga Performing Arts Center in Saratoga Springs, NY. The tickets were for Section 1 Row J. Right behind the pit! AMAZING SEATS!!! I was one of the first people to view the ad after it was posted and...

Flashback to the 80's and 90's

February 01, 2021 07:00 - 42 minutes - 29.4 MB

Sometimes inspiration finds you when you least expect it. Join me in this exciting podcast episode as I walk us back to the era of growing up in the 80’s and 90’s. The pre-internet childhood and what we did for fun.  Life was simply simple. I like saying that lol. Say it to yourself or out loud and you’ll feel it resonate like I did. The inspiration behind this episode came after a friend of mine rediscovered or resurrected his blog on WordPress called Totally Bogus Dude. I forgot all about ...

New York State Vanity Plates!

October 20, 2020 04:00 - 40 minutes - 28.1 MB

A few weeks ago I was looking up vanity plates on the New York State Department of Motor Vehicle website and to my surprise PODCASTS was available! I had to get it. I could not believe that combination was available, I was shocked. Within a few minutes I ordered it and my transaction was complete. They arrived in the mail last Friday! They looked absolutely beautiful. This is the story about my vanity plates as well as other plate combinations I found that you may find very interesting. Oh, ...

Update For All My Listeners

October 09, 2020 17:00 - 19 minutes - 13.3 MB

Here is a little update (while I sip my coffee) on the direction I'm heading with my podcast. I thought it would be interesting to share with my listeners and subscribers. My ASMR recordings have become very popular worldwide. So my primary focus will be making ASMR audio and incorporating them into my podcast. I'm also in the process of making a brand new website. I registered the domain name ASMRpodcaster.com a couple days ago. It should be finished and ready to launch within the next coup...

A Campfire and Train Ride

October 09, 2020 00:00 - 16 minutes - 11.7 MB

What a beautiful night to have a campfire down at the creek. The railroad tracks are right behind us and the dark old rail tunnel isn't very far away. The moon is so bright, the air is so cold and crisp and the water is flowing pretty good in the creek from all the rain we had recently. With a little imagination you'll be able to feel the heat from the fire, the smell of the train and see the reflection of the moon as you listen and relax to this podcast episode.

Captured Rail Trail Audio

October 08, 2020 23:00 - 40 minutes - 27.6 MB

Recently I took some of my podcasting equipment to the Rail Trail in Voorheesville, NY. It was a gorgeous night. Plus it was nice and quiet. The sky was clear with a big bright full moon and a great view of all the stars. There's a perfect little area where I can setup my stuff. A big pavilion and a little one. I was under the little one near the railroad tracks. It would be an amazing spot to interview people. It has a lot of foot traffic and bike riders. Maybe I'll do that in a future podc...

Cobra Kai on Netflix is AMAZING!!!

September 18, 2020 02:00 - 37 minutes - 25.5 MB

Cobra Kai on Netflix is amazing! It has so many moving parts. Tons of references to The Karate Kid movie from 1984. The writers have done an amazing job with the series. You can't afford to miss even one minute of this show. I have one more episode to watch in Season 1. This is my review and thoughts so far up to this point in the show. Special guest appearance by Bridget G. with her Cobra Kai commentary here at Huba Studios!

The Aston Origin Microphone

April 30, 2020 09:00 - 2 minutes - 1.54 MB

Here's a little sample of me talking over a Billie Holiday song on the Aston Origin. It's a beautiful high-performance cardioid condenser microphone. I had it plugged into the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 USB interface, no cloudlifter needed. Rich crystal clear sound. Hope you enjoy it!

RODE Podmic vs Shure SM7B

April 27, 2020 07:00 - 15 minutes - 10.4 MB

I'm so impressed with the RODE Podmic. I had to do a review along side the Shure SM7B. Many people wanted to hear my audio samples with each mic. I decided to do a podcast so everyone could hear the audio and compare it with their own ears. Podcasters love giving feedback to other podcasters. Audio can be one of the hardest things to get right. Everyone hears things differently. In this episode I share one of my mic techniques if you have a "P" popping problem and some advice for podcasters....

A 3 Minute Podcast?

February 07, 2020 09:00 - 3 minutes - 2.26 MB

Can someone become successful with a short podcast? When I mean short, I'm talking between two and three minutes long. I usually keep mine under an hour. I decided on a whim to make one with the voice memo app on my Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus. The audio quality is pretty amazing compared to a lot of other smart phones. I use it all the time. I'm excited to announce that I'll be attending the podcaster gathering on Wednesday February 26th from 6pm to 8pm at the world famous Buzzsprout Headquarte...

Domain Names! Experiences, Opinions and Ideas

January 13, 2020 09:00 - 40 minutes - 28 MB

Securing a domain name is the first step to having a web presence. Think of domain names as digital real estate. In this episode of the Huba Show I share my experiences and opinions within the world of domain names. I have been involved with domains on all different levels since the mid 90's, during the early stages of the internet. Also known as the information super highway. I love the tedious process of finding domain names. Thinking of which areas to search out, searching around words, u...

Napkins not included

January 08, 2020 09:00 - 10 minutes - 6.93 MB

A week into 2020, has it lost its flare? I recently discovered Mukbang on YouTube. In this episode I attempt to put it into words. But let me be clear...no pasta was harmed in this podcast recording lol. I would never do that to fresh pasta. Whole wheat pasta can take a backseat as far as I'm concerned. I'll save that for another show. Get your ears ready, turn off the lights, sit back, relax and enjoy! According to Wikipedia: Mukbang, muk-bang or meokbang is a live online audiovisual broa...

New Years Eve 2020 Podcast!

January 02, 2020 10:00 - 15 minutes - 10.4 MB

I'm excited 2020 is officially here. Maybe this will be round two of the roaring 20's? I recorded this episode with the YETI Blackout mic in my kitchen. It was spur of the moment. I set everything up about three minutes before the ball dropped. I like how it turned out. Sit back, relax, listen and enjoy! Welcome to a new decade! Now, let's take a quick minute to remember the past. The hoverboard scene in Back to the Future 2 was pretty much the ultimate tease as to what the future held. I'v...

Old Cartoons and Laughing Tracks

September 06, 2019 20:00 - 31 minutes - 21.4 MB

Old cartoons from the 50's, 60's and 70's were much different than todays cartoons. One of the biggest differences was not only the illustrations but the insertion of laughing tracks. A laughing track is basically crowd laughter inserted in spots of a cartoon that more or less give you the cue that you the viewer are supposed to laugh. Why was this done? Listen to my latest podcast episode for the answer. Scooby-Doo is an American animated franchise, comprising many animated television seri...

The History of Radio Station Call Letters "K" and "W"

August 26, 2019 15:00 - 22 minutes - 15.6 MB

In this episode I talk about the history of radio station call letters and the lettering system established very early in the 19th century during the dawn of broadcasting. The United States was given the letters W, K, N, and A. The letters 'N' and 'A' were given to military stations, but 'K' and 'W' were assigned out for commercial use. Radio stations east of the Mississippi River had to start their stations with 'W', and stations west of the Mississippi with 'K'.

ASMR - Croc's, the kind you wear.

July 10, 2019 04:00 - 26 seconds - 349 KB

A friend of mine HATES Croc's and I love them! I made this audio for her as a joke and now it found its way here. I've been a long time Croc buyer and I have no shame admitting it. In fact, my brother bought me a pair of reptile blue Croc's for my birthday recently and I'm wearing them as I publish this quick sound bite.

Game of Thrones - Final Episode May 19th 2019

May 06, 2019 07:00 - 1 minute - 841 KB

This will be a historic TV broadcast event! I'm amazed and completely fascinated how GOT has captured audiences worldwide. A couple of weeks ago I stumbled upon "viewers reactions to GOT" on YouTube. I never saw large groups of viewers so wrapped up into a final season of a television series in a way like this. I remember hanging out with my family and friends during the final episode of The Sopranos on HBO back on June 10th 2007. Longtime viewers were sick to their stomachs and speechless. ...

Check out their website here, www.GinnieSpringsOutdoors.com I can't say enough about this place. YOU have to go there and experience it for yourself. It's beautiful. I touch upon my slow quest to find scuba gear and get certified this year and I also take a trip down memory lane when I used to play chess all the time when I was younger. Don't miss me talking about Disney's Star Wars ...
