INTERVIEW HIGHLIGHTS:

[01:13] Every business is experiencing disruptions during the public health crisis of Covid19, and healthcare is no exception. A critical supply-chain that must continue during this time is the physician/pharmaceutical relationship. Doctors need to continue getting their supplies, and people need to be able to get their medicine, regardless of what is going on in the world. What are the challenges pharmaceuticals and biotech companies are struggling with, regarding maintaining that critical supply-chain relationship with physicians during a major public health crisis?

Anupam: There is a growing gap between physicians and pharma. As an industry, pharma has historically allowed any customer journey. Additionally, the delay in moving to digital transformation and adopting newer technologies such as IoT and AI has created a major gap between pharma and physician relationships. This situation has worsened with coronavirus, where field sales are restricted from calling on physicians. There will be a new normal post-COVID, which will require a change in how pharma connects with physicians.

[01:58] The health-pharma-physician relationship is paramount to everything that happens in our healthcare system.

[04:50] Healthcare has significantly changed since Covid19.

[05:12] What can pharmaceuticals and biotech companies do to maintain their relationship with physicians during times of disruption?

[06:22] One challenge to overcome is that doctors aren’t used to delivering remote services.

[07:24] Another challenge we need to overcome is that we might be living in the era – not of a lockdown, but rather an era of frequent lockdowns or shutdowns.

[08:24] P360 recently launched a new offering on the Microsoft Azure marketplace, called Swittons. Tell us about it and how it addresses some of the challenges we just discussed.
