An Interview with Dr. Valerie Jacobs: a General Pediatrician with Deep Integrative Expertise

Valerie Jacobs, MD, PhD

Dr. Valerie Jacobs is an Arizona native who after graduating from Arizona State University, she went on to receive her medical degree as well as her PhD in Neuro-Immunology/Pharmacology from Dartmouth College. While there, she completed her motivational training at Columbia which she used to help develop an on-campus counseling program for college students struggling with addiction. She completed her residency at Boston Children's Hospital and stayed on as faculty there at Harvard Medical School where she worked full time in the Emergency Department. It was during this time that she also completed her medical acupuncture training. She then went on to study Integrative Medicine at University of Arizona. Her medical interests include nutrition, mental and behavior health and integrative practices. She incorporates an evidence-based integrative and holistic approach to all her visits. She works at Paradise Pediatrics in Scottsdale, Arizona.
