goodbye/fun facts....farmers day...2 things we couldn't live without...bees and farmers!!  The profession of farming began around 12,000 years ago with the domestication of livestock as hunter/gatherers settled down and started to plant their own food.  it's backbreaking work...only 1.3% percent of the U.S. labor force made up by ranchers....so all those fruits and vegetables and meats and eggs and milk and grain etc you see in the grocery store...came from a farm. One of the best ways to thank a farmer is with your wallet. Head to a farmer’s market...which began in in Los Angeles as a way for farmers and merchants can sell their wares from permanent stalls.
