goodbye/fun facts....National Empanada Day recognizes a delicious pastry.  The name empanada comes from the Portuguese and Spanish verb em pandar, meaning to wrap or coat in bread.  They've been around since medieval iberia 1520.  Empanadas are made by folding the dough or bread around things like meat, seafood, cheese, vegetables or fruit fillings.  They make a great finger food if you're hosting a party btw
