goodbye/fun facts...National Peach Cobbler Day...comes from early European settlers.  Unable to make traditional puddings due to lack of suitable ingredients and cooking equipment, the settlers instead covered a stewed filling with a layer of uncooked plain biscuits or dumplings fitted or "cobbled" together.  but it's not just peach...cobblers can be made with lots of different fruits...rhurbarb etc but peach seems to be most popular.
