In the late 17th century, fudge was a verb meaning "to fit together or adjust...by the mid 1800's, the use of the term “Oh, fudge!” as a kid-friendly expletive had come into favor... It’s believed that the first batch of fudge was created when someone was trying to make caramels and “fudged” up....Making fudge is actually quite easy and adding bits of candy, nuts or sprinkles can bring just the right celebratory burst of excitement to an old favorite.
