goodbye/fun facts....The Burr–Hamilton duel is one of the most famous personal conflicts in American history....and it occured on this date in 1804 between Vice President Aaron Burr and Alexander Hamilton, It was a pistol duel which was the culmination of a long and bitter rivalry between the two men. Burr was charged with murder in New York and New Jersey, but neither charge reached trial. The rules of dueling researched by historian Joanne B. Freeman provided inspiration for the song "Ten Duel Commandments" in the Lin-Manuel Miranda’s musical hit Broadway musical Hamilton.
