It's so hard to play the long game, ya know?To show up every day and take action on something you really wanna achieve, but never really seeing any kind of substantial progress, so you can’t be sure your effort is working. It’s so hard to keep going when you can’t see where it’s going. But I find reassurance in principles like the slight edge and law of attraction because they remind me that every single little thing you think, feel, say and do is actually a piece in the bigger picture of you.And without the work...Without the small steps, you think don’t mean much.Without the daily hustle of showing up and committing to a vision. You can’t get anywhere at all.So it all counts, regardless of where you are...Where you wanna go.You doing the work is all you can do.It’s the only way to turn pro.To feel at home.To become a higher version of yourself. So it’s important to know that the little things you do, do add up.And so you can decide to not do much at all.To go with the flow.To fall in line like most people do. And to let yourself believe that you aren’t in control.Or, you could believe in yourself more than anything else. You could follow your imagination and have faith and trust that it’s your inner guidance system giving you something specific.Something special.Something magnificent. And you could believe that if you do what it says every day, one day you’ll show up like you always do, and suddenly you’ll see all the battles in your war of art we’re worth it. It was worth the pain because you did achieve something great. And those wars are what you really did for, anyway, aren’t they? It’s not just the bigger picture of what you wanna create. It's not just the end result. It’s all the stories along the way, that’s you what you really want. It’s the challenges and the lessons learned and the breakthroughs and the “finally figuring something out.” That's what feels so good. So it’s true what they say...It’s not about the destination, it’s about the journey. That's the hardest thing to accept I think. --------------Get all the Art Stories at ArtistSarahLong.com and to buy her alcohol ink art paintings, go to ArtistSarahLongStore.com.
