I like seeing progress.

It makes me want to keep going and this picture looks like progress to me.

I think I was starting to accept that maybe this is my style of alcohol inking, and even though it doesn’t make sense, I can see it starting to become a bit more artistic if you know what I mean.

I added some lines with alcohol to give it more character and that was enough to change my perspective of how I feel about it.

And that’s what practice does, doesn’t it?

It helps us see what works and what doesn’t.

It helps us sharpen our skills and perfect our lines, and when we do the practice enough times, we shed old ways of being and we start being a better human being, because we grow and we learn and we find more confidence, and become more competent. And the cycle keeps going so long as you keep going, and eventually if you keep going long enough, your practice pieces create your portfolio, and you can say you did the work enough times to pro, and you can sell your pieces to people that need it, cause you know the art isn't about you, it's about sharing your art with the world.

And that’s why I’m selling all my practice pieces.

I don’t care if Sarah doesn’t think they’re good enough, she’s not the one in control.

I am, and I am a pro.
