It’s been months in the making and today we’re delighted to share a conversation between Hilary and Meg Gray, the Director of Customer Success and Operations at Kiva.

Kiva is an international nonprofit, founded in 2005 and based in San Francisco, with a mission to connect people through lending to alleviate poverty. They support people looking to create a better future for themselves, their families and their communities.

By lending as little as $25 on Kiva, anyone can help a borrower start or grow a business, go to school, access clean energy or realize their potential. For some, it’s a matter of survival, for others it’s the fuel for a life-long ambition.

To date Hilary & Hatch Tribe have issued over 147 loans to women entrepreneurs in 66 countries, and we’re just getting started. We believe it’s our responsibility to pay it forward and give back, furthering Hatch Tribe’s mission to help women entrepreneurs launch and grow their businesses across the world.

Today on the show you’ll hear from Meg Gray. She believes that technology has the power to create opportunity for all. In her current role as the Director of Customer Success and Operations at Kiva, she engages lenders and partner organizations to grow the impact Kiva has through its online microlending platform.

Meg has always gotten a thrill out making systems work better, especially when alleviating poverty is the goal. Through a mix of process development, product management and testing new ideas, she is focused on increasing efficiency to facilitate sustainable growth. These traits show up in her previous roles at Kiva as well as her past work at SHARE El Salvador, the Child Care Resource Center and as Chair of the Board of the Refugee Center Online.

Outside of work, Meg is an avid baker and reader who dreams of running the perfect little bookstore/cafe in an alternate life. (We love this! And hey, it could happen in this lifetime!)
