I had Peggy Judy on the podcast today and she was just delightful. I love this kind of story where you have someone who's an artist, they're born with that special knack for art, but because of the way things play out in life, they don't end up getting into the fine art world right away. In Peggy's case, she worked as an illustrator, sort of orbiting a world in which she'd eventually be a fixture.

You see, Peggy got her BFA in illustration, but she put it on the side and worked with horses, raised her family, and then after a while she had the classic 'I should be making art' epiphany. She sold her house and went all in and she's done extremely well as a result. Peggy has been doing this now for about eight years and she's currently represented by a slew of galleries. In fact, she just had a major one-person show at a museum and she's going to be exhibiting in our gallery at my upcoming Rodeo de Tucson show in February.

Actually, I was looking for artists for the aforementioned Rodeo show when I stumbled across Peggy's art for the first time. I didn't know who she was, but I immediately gravitated to what she was doing and said: "Yeah, this person really has something." Once you get her backstory you'll understand why I find her so interesting.

I think you'll enjoy this one. I know I did. Peggy Judy on Art Dealer Diaries episode 214.
