I had Lance Laber on the podcast today. He's the Executive Director for the Ted DeGrazia Gallery in the Sun and he's been working with the museum for 40 years, the last 20 as the Executive Director. The DeGrazia Gallery in the Sun has been around since the 1980s and is in the same general area as Medicine Man Gallery in Tucson's Catalina Foothills.

Ted DeGrazia was a very well-known artist and at one time Ted would say that he was the best-known artist in the world because of cards UNICEF produced featuring his painting "Los Niños." With that said, Ted DeGrazia was much more than the UNICEF campaign that made him a household name. I mean, he was an individual that worked with artists like Diego Rivera and Olaf Wieghorst.

It was really fun to learn more about Ted DeGrazia, the studio, the gallery, and the museum - but also about Lance's early years in Tucson and his connection to the DeGrazia family. It's a really interesting podcast for anybody in Tucson and I enjoyed speaking with Lance a great deal. Lance Laber on Art Dealer Diaries Podcast episode 212.
